Welcome to the GSA!

The GSA attempts to foster communication between graduate students and
professors in the UW English department. The committee, made up of six
graduate students, is in charge of several events throughout the academic
year.

The MA Mentoring Program

MA students are paired with a more experience graduate student in order to
facilitate their adjustment to UW and their academic success in their first
year.

Bagel Hour

Each week, the GSA provides bagels, doughnuts, tea, and coffee to English
graduate students for minimal prices. During the Fall of 2004, Bagel Hour
occurs from 9-11am in 7191 Helen C. White. You'll always find good
discussion, lots of laughter, and a good breakfast here. Faculty are warmly
welcome as well!

The GSA Symposium

Each Spring, the GSA hosts a national graduate student conference that
works to promote the professionalization of graduate students. This year's
conference is on the theme of "texts, translations, and traditions." Please
see the call for more information.
