Korean Food

Distinctive flavors permeate Korean cuisine. Koreans take pride in their food and dining is a sight to behold. Powerfully spiced meats, fresh seafood, and a wide variety of vegetables are commonplace. Family style dining and "grill it yourself" barbecue restaurants are also popular.

Some elements of Korean cuisine might strike you as strange. In deference to your Korean hosts, it is polite to sample food that is offered to you. If you must refuse, just be gracious. Korean food is often a highlight of an English teacher's time abroad.

It's worth noting that Western food of all sorts is readily available in Korea. The flavors of home can often be found through a network of native English speaking teachers!
