John
Bradley
A Ph.D. candidate in Literary Studies, John teaches and studies 20th-Century American Literature with a special focus on contemporary poetry. John received a B.A. in English and in German from Wake Forest University, and an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has taught many courses here at UW-Madison, including English 100 and many introductory literature classes, and he has worked in the Writing Center for over three years now and especially enjoys working with first-year students. In his free time, John enjoys things like hiking, playing chess, and the occasional video game. He’s also a sucker for sci-fi tv and films (no matter how bad, usually).
Christopher
Syrnyk
A Ph.D. candidate in Composition and Rhetoric, Christopher teaches and studies rhetoric and argument, with a special focus on rights-based argumentation and the philosophical problems of voice in rhetoric. Christopher received a B. A. in Russian Literature and an area studies certificate in East European Studies from the University of Oregon, and an M. A. in English Literature from Virginia Tech. He, too, has taught many courses here at UW-Madison, including English 100, and other introductory literature courses, and he has worked in the Writing Center for over two years, and especially appreciates the many facets of the first-year student’s experience at Madison. In his free time, Christopher enjoys spending time coaching his eldest daughter in soccer, taking long walks on the Oregon coast, and roasting marshmallows over an open fire. He’s also a sucker for strong examples of Bungalow architecture (no matter how bad, usually).
